Intruders threaten victims in Bewbush burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses after three men burgled a house in Bewbush on Sunday evening (December 30).

The men broke into a house on Behenna Close at around 8.30pm and threatened the two occupants before demanding money, said Sussex Police.

The intruders broke into a safe in an upstairs bedroom and made off with a large quantity of money and personal property.

Detective Sergeant Jon Pink of West Sussex CID said: “The victims were unhurt but are obviously very shaken by the event.

“The suspects are all believed to be between 20 and 25 years of age. One of the men was described as white about 5’ 8”, stocky, with a round face and a pointed nose, he was wearing a black hooded top, black trousers and spoke with a local accent.

“The second man was also white and is described as about 5’7” to 5’ 10” tall, medium build, mousy hair and a puffy face. He was wearing a grey puffer jacket with a hood a brown jumper, dark jeans.

“The third male is described as shorter than the second man and about 5 ’3”, wearing dark clothing with a hood.

“It is believed that the suspects were on foot and ran off in the direction of Waterfield Gardens.”
