Crawley fans have been asked to help clear snow off the Broadfield Stadium pitch today - with a free match ticket their reward.
Around four inches has settled on the covers protecting the playing surface, and although the Reds’ next home game is not for another eight days, the snow needs to be moved.
Crawley supporters answered a similar appeal last February when more then 90 tonnes of snow was removed from the playing surface to allow the match against Cheltenham to go-ahead.
Chief executive Richard Low said: “Earlier this year our fans did a fantastic job to clear snow off the pitch and surrounds and get the game against Cheltenham on. Our next home game isn’t until Tuesday week against Preston but we have a lot of snow on the pitch at the moment and we need to shift it and do some work on the surrounds as well.
“We appreciate it is a working day and short notice but any supporter who can come down and help will be made welcome. We will provide some lunch and hot drinks and every supporter will receive a ticket for the Preston game next Tuesday.”
