Visitors to Gatwick Airport have been warned to beware of a man who is conning people out of small sums of cash.
The man has approached passengers and airport staff and claims to have suffered various misfortunes such as a broken bank card, a broken down car about to be clamped or an urgent need for petrol. He asks for small sums of money such as £20, offering repayment and giving false personal details.
He is described as white, aged 25-30, very tall, of slim build, with blue eyes and short brown hair. He is believed to drive a silver Vauxhall Astra. It is quite possible that he is also operating in Crawley and other towns around the airport.
Anyone who believes they have been the target or victim of this man is asked to call Sussex Police on 101 quoting serial 1097 of 17/02.
