Former Three Bridges manager Barry Mealand died on Easter Monday.
Barry, 70, played football for both Fulham with Johnny Haynes, George Cohen, Tony Macedo and Graham Leggat and Rotherham United in the 1960s.
He came to Bridges over 20 years ago and ran their ’A’ team, bringing through players such as his own son Paul and striker David Emms. He was temporary first team boss with Keith Cook in 1998 and helped them finish runners up in County League Second Division. Barry has been a member of the club’s committee since then and was made a life member at the end of last season.
Club spokesman Alf Blackler said: “We extend our sympathy to his wife Jackie, children Sarah and Paul and all their families. He was a larger than life character who will be sorely missed.
His funeral will be held totday Thursday, April 11 at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium at 2.15pm.
