Bridges made it three wins out of three on the road, and only a second Peacehaven goal five minutes into added time gave the home side a flattering scoreline.
They had their moments of course, largely through the efforts of left back Joe Dryer, whose crosses gave Martin Grant and his defence plenty to think about.
Anthony Di Bernardo was forced to the first save of note, however, when he held Marcus Elliott’s shot at the near post after the Bridges striker had made a glorious run on the left.
Ash Jones went close with a header at the other end, whilst Peacehaven were grateful when James Drinkwater’s rasping drive deflected off a defender’s head to the relative safety of a corner. Lewis Forsdick, who was solid alongside Marlon Maxwell at the heart of Bridges’ defence, missed a good headed opportunity from Williams Peauroux’s corner, while Trevor McCreadie fired over after a good interchange with Josh Jones.
But it was a quality goal that broke the deadlock after 38 minutes when Elliott Romain gathered the ball just inside Peacehaven’s half and ran at the defence before applying the perfect finish into the far right corner of the net.
Josh Jones wasted two chances to level either side of half time, but homme pressure told after 67 minutes when Steve Metcalf’s cross was headed home by substitute Charlie Walker. But Peaecahevn were only on level terms for three minutes as Lee Carney eased himself into a shooting chance from just outside the goal area and saw his effort fly in helped on its way by Dryer.
Romain fired just wide from a neat lay off by Alex Parsons and Dryer came just as close with a fizzing shot at the other end. But after 87 minutes Parsons steadied himself before finding a perfectly weighted short ball into Marcus Elliott for Bridges’ third goal.
3-1 would have been about right, but Lloyd Cotton nabbed an injury time header and 30 seconds later the referee blew the final whistle.
