GATWICK Airport remains open for business today (Monday February 6)) but travellers are advised to check with their airlines for up-to-date flight information.
Despite 8cm of snow falling on Saturday the airport remained open throughout the night with most scheduled flights taking off and landing safely on Sunday (February 5).
There were nine cancellations on Sunday but none are expected today.
More than 50,000 passengers passed through terminals on Sunday.
Gatwick has invested £8 million in snow-clearing equipment after last year’s heavy snowfall caused transport chaos across the country.
These include 14 snow ploughs, de-icing vehicles, tractors and 680,000 litres of anti-icing agents – double the amount kept in stock in 2011/12.
