Raynor hails hat trick hero Tubbs

CRAWLEY assistant manager Paul Raynor saluted Matt Tubbs after his hat trick helped fire the Reds into the Third Round of the FA Cup.

Tubbs netted twice from the spot and also scored a superb first half volley as Crawley beat Redbridge, the lowest ranked team in the compeition, 5-0, his first goals in six games.

Raynor said: “We have never had any doubt about Tubbs, and he got his rewards today. He deserved his hat trick and was a goal threat all the time.

“The second goal was worthy of any FA Cup tie, it was a fantastic strike and we know what he is capable of.”

Raynor stressed that Reds were dominant throughout today’s Second Round tie. He added: “It was a thoroughly professional peformance and we are delighted to be in the hat.”

Tubbs said: “We do not fear anyone. It would be great to play against some of the biggest teams in the country.”
