Motorists can expect long delays on the M23 this afternoon (Tuesday March 11) as the road reopens following a collision involving three vehicles.
At 3.38pm police were called to junction 11 southbound exit slip road of the M23 at Pease Pottage where there was an accident involving a crane vehicle, a skip lorry and a Fiat Multipla.
The air ambulance was called and the driver of the crane was taken to East Surrey Hospital. A police spokesman said his injuries are not thought to be life threatening. Three fire service vehicles attended.
At its worst there were lane closures on the slip round and the roundabout while police cleared the carriageway.
The road was fully reopened at about 5pm, but the spokesman warned there would be lengthy delays for some time.
Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
