CRAWLEY Town assistant manager Paul Raynor said his side produced the desired response after watching them beat Barnet 1-0 tonight.
Tyrone Barnett scored the only goal in the second minute as Crawley bounced back from a 2-1 defeat to Gillingham on Boxing Day, which ended their 15-game unbeaten run.
Raynor said “We are delighted, any win is a good win. It was about the response, we drummed it into them, we didn’t feel we got what we deserved against Gillingham.”
Chances were at a premium in the second half at both ends as Lawrie Sanchez’s Barnet kept it tight, and Scott Shearer remained untested in the Crawley goal.
Raynor added: “We ground out a victory. Teams are not going to turn up and play expansive football, they did make it difficult for us, but it was about getting those three points and we are delighted to be going into 2012 top of the League.”
