MIDFIELDER Nicky Adams has become Crawley Town’s second signing of the day and manager Sean O’Driscoll’s third capture of the summer.
Following the arrival of defender Mat Sadler earlier in the day, Adams completed his move from League 1 Rochdale.
The 25-year-old central midfield man was a mainstay of Rochdale’s team last term.
He began his career with Bury, making 77 appearances for the club and scoring 14 goals before joining Leicester City in 2008 for £100,000.
He also made five appearances for Wales Under-21s, making his debut against France in November 2007.
Nicky made 30 appearances for Leicester during his two years at the club, where he was also loaned out to Rochdale and Leyton Orient. After a brief spell with Brentford he joined Dale on a permanent basis in January 2011 and has been a regular since then.
Adams told the club’s website: “I’m really pleased. I spoke to the Gaffer and a few of the players.
“Speaking to the Gaffer and what he has got planned here was important. I’ve had a few offers from other clubs but this one seemed right.
“It’s not just that, but the club has had great success and I know a couple of the players. They all told me it’s a really good club on the way up.”
Reds boss O’Driscoll said: “We felt we were a little bit light on the wings and Nicky is a very good wide midfielder.
“He likes to cut in off the right and create chances. He fits in with what we are trying to achieve here at Crawley.
“I watched Nicky a lot while he was at Rochdale and they like to play football on the floor so he was a great fit.”
